I think it was in 3rd gear both times, under moderate acceleration. If the transmission pops out of gear in first, third and fifth gear, then the shift boot would be the most likely cause for the complaint. Anyway, my driver that is running the truck for me says it pops out of 3rd and 7th allmost all of the time and he has to hold it in gear to keep it from doing so. so twice in the last few weeks my 2002 OBW (manual transmission) has popped out of gear. If I just put light pressure on the shifter, I can feel when it is going to pop out, and if I let up on the gas, and then resume speed, it will stay in gear.
